Leap for joy!

In today's Gospel, Elizabeth reports to Mary, "at the moment the sound of your greeting reached my ears, the infant in my womb leaped for joy."  My pastor, in his (great) homily today, reminded us that this -- i.e., "leaping for joy" -- is an eminently appropriate response to the news (or, the Good News) -- the truly amazing, unfathomable news -- of the Incarnation.  It's overwhelming, it's shocking, it's -- to so many, in so many places, at so many times -- a scandal . . . and yet, the response held out for emulation, on the last Sunday of Advent is to "leap for joy."  Nice.
