Law and the Bible

I highly recommend the hot-off-the-presses Law and the Bible: Justice, Mercy and Legal Institutions.  Edited by Bob Cochran and David VanDrunen, each chapter is coauthored by a legal scholar and biblical scholar.  On the law side, participants include Bill Brewbaker, Daivd Skeel, Roger Alford, Barb Armacost, Randy Beck, David Smolin, Bob Cochran, John Nagle, and Joel Nichols.  The book is worth the purchase price simply for the privilege of reading Bob Cochran and (the late) Dallas Willard reflect on Jesus and the civil law.  This is an example of Christian legal scholarship that should spark many helpful conversations within and outside the academy.
