The Jurisprudential Legacy of John Paul II
Following up on my recent post ("John Paul II and the LAw: A First Try"), a reader helpfully called my attention to this symposium issue, published a few years ago by the Journal of Catholic Legal Studies (out of St. John's University), dedicated to the "Jurisprudential Legacy of John Paul II." I have been thinking about Pope John Paul's Legacy as well as Pope Benedict's, two Popes that I greatly admire, who were not afraid to address the issues of our Time in light of our Catholic Faith,and yet I simply do not understand why, although they could separate the wheat from the chaff, they were unable to address the dissension in Christ's Church.
