The Jurisprudential Legacy of John Paul IIFollowing up on my recent post ("John Paul II and the LAw: A First Try"), a reader helpfully called my attention to this symposium issue, published a few years ago by the Journal of Catholic Legal Studies (out of St. John's University), dedicated to the "Jurisprudential Legacy of John Paul II." It contains loads of good stuff, including contributions from five (!!) different MOJ contributors.
I have been thinking about Pope John Paul's Legacy as well as Pope Benedict's, two Popes that I greatly admire, who were not afraid to address the issues of our Time in light of our Catholic Faith, and yet I simply do not understand why, although they could separate the wheat from the chaff, they were unable to address the dissension in Christ's Church.
